Development of PnP-Type Optoelectronic Switches with Reflectors for People Counting in Hong Kong MTR Subway Escalators
By MAX
Goals:
1) Accurate People Counting:
The proposed system aims to provide accurate and reliable people counting in subway escalators, enabling efficient crowd management and resource allocation.
2) Privacy and Performance:
By utilizing PnP-type optoelectronic switches with reflectors, the system overcomes privacy concerns and performs consistently across varying environmental conditions.
3) BLE Communication Integration (Firebase):
The incorporation of BLE communication enables real-time data transmission and remote monitoring of the people counting information.
Research Questions:
1. How can PnP-type optoelectronic switches with reflectors be effectively utilized for people counting in subway escalators?
2. How can the collected data be wirelessly transmitted using BLE communication for real-time monitoring and analysis?
Testing
Impact:
We need a rapid-fire and stable hardware counter for the fast tempo of crowd flow.
So I will work on Photoelectric Switch next step
more hardware and software tuning needed.
