Crowd Management

The two tools of effective crowd management are leaders and obstacles. These tools formed the basis of our product.

LED colours decided based on the colur theory.

LED Testing

LED patterns, positioning and effect were tested by 2 experiments. It was found that if a few people follow the LED, more are prone to follow - Crowd herding effect noticed. As long as 37-60% people follow the LED system implemented is effective. About 40% are prone to follow.

Input System

Development of CV and Algorithm over time to accurately detect crowd information and recommend shortest path. Tested via experiments at Hall 2 Lift, Academic building, LG5 to understand whether people would change their mind about going to a particular node, with known crowd information.

Barrier

Experimentation with Shapes and Lengths of barrier for development of prototype. A bendable barrier offers more standing space, which could be effective in areas with curved walls.
