Optimal Form Factor for an Elderly-Friendly Photo-Taking and Transmitting Device
Research Objective & Context
We aimed to gather qualitative insights into the daily habits, preferences, and user experiences of elderly individuals to inform the development of a novel camera and photo frame system designed specifically for seniors.
The interview was structured into three distinct sections:

Section1:
Camera Form Factor

Carrying Habits and Everyday Essentials
Participants unanimously identified four common essential items carried outdoors: keys, wallets, smartphones, and occasionally glasses.

Photography Habits and Motivations
Approximately half expressed hesitation in taking outdoor photos.
Several participants mentioned they use their smartphones primarily for documentation purposes

Preferred Form Factor and Design Considerations
Male participants predominantly favoured a neck-hanging device
Female participants largely preferred a more discreet option, such as a wallet insert or keychain attachment
